Every instalment on an off-plan purchase in Dubai goes to an escrow account controlled by the Dubai Land Department, and the project's registration status can be checked through the DLD's Project Status Enquiry service. Budget for the DLD registration fee of 4% of the price, the Oqood registration for off-plan sales and the developer's administrative charges. Bank financing for part of the price is possible for some non-residents, always subject to the lender's approval.
